Lesson 4
In the next two lessons we will start the phrase in the falsetto (head voice). This yodeler will be slow in 3/4 time. One of my favorites because so many variations can be done with this one as you will find out in the Yodeling with Friends segment.
The yodeler is built on the triad below. A simple change for a yodeler with a lot of feeling.
To begin, practice the intervals for the Performance yodeler. Come in with a strong falsetto G for the first note. The G should be completely separated from the D and the F# from the D.

The Pagger Buam are on my phone and are playing constantly in my car and in my office. These young Austrians have gotten better with every new album. Their latest Heut Start ma Durch is fantastic, especially their 3 part yodeling. I have never heard better. Each of them are amazing yodelers and together they have a great sound. The album is in German and the dialect of Styria (Steiermark) Austria. Give it a listen on iTunes. Highly Recommended!

Start strong on the G and try not to pop the H in hola. Phrase the notes smoothly and clearly.
Now practice the progression from the D7 to the G.
Put it all together for the performance. Use good breath support and take a breath at the rests.
This is an interesting YWF adding the words to the counter melody. When you work with the video make up your own second verse.
